Pirates 6 Trailer "Beyond the Horizon"

Recent reports stated that Disney has now apparently ordered multiple scripts to be written for a potential "Pirates of the Caribbean 6". At least one of which is said to include Margot Robbie as the new lead for the movie.

Here's a new concept trailer on what it could look like. Would you be excited for Margot Robbie as the new lead for the franchise, or should the franchise just end without Johnny Depp's involvement as Jack Sparrow?

Johnny Depp's potential return to Pirates of the Caribbean remains up in the air. As it stands, it might still be too early to tell.

The five films in the “Pirates” franchise starring Depp have brought in more the $4.5 billion worldwide.

Depp’s lurid defamation lawsuit against ex-wife Amber Heard put his future into question, even as the actor won the bombshell trial.

At the moment, there are currently two Pirates of the Caribbean movies in development. The first of the two is the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean 6, with comments from director Joachim Rønning suggesting that it will make up the finale of the franchise.

The second movie in development is a new film unrelated to the previous ones that is set to star Margot Robbie as the protagonist. At the moment, it's unclear if Robbie’s Pirates of the Caribbean movie is a spinoff of the original franchise or a full-fledged reboot, but the specifics should come out once both it and Pirates of the Caribbean 6 are further along in development.

While there has been major doubt cast on Johnny Depp’s future with Pirates of the Caribbean, fans haven’t given up on seeing him again. One notable example of this comes from a Change.org petition to bring Depp back as Jack Sparrow that’s received over 500,000 signatures and is currently close to one million.

The most concrete evidence about whether or not Johnny Depp will return to Pirates of the Caribbean comes from Depp, himself. During the Depp v. Heard trial, Depp confirm that he was out of the franchise.

At the end of the day, Depp is the one who decides if he’ll return to the franchise, and if Depp, himself, is saying that he won’t return as Pirates of the Caribbean's Jack Sparrow, then it makes it hard to believe that he’ll return.
