Military Miniatures -- German Artillery "Anzio Annie" Video Leopold Railway Gun

Description

German Artillery "Anzio Annie" http://militaryminiatureshq.com
On January 22, 1944 the Allies landed on the shores of Anzio Beach, Italy. They were later greeted by 280mm shells being launched by two German Krupp K-5 railway guns. One of these guns was later named "Anzio Annie" by the allies.

It is in fact Leopold, a Krupp K-5 railway gun that was nicknamed "Anzio Annie" by U.S. soldiers during the invasion of Anzio, Italy. "It's one of 25 that were made by Krupp Manufacturing during and before World War II.

DIORAMA
The diorama itself is composed of various 1/30 and 1/32 scale toy soldiers and other military miniature armored fighting vehicles (AFV) and transport military vehicles. Among the manufacturing are King and Country, Figarti and even some Collector Showcase toy soldiers and vehicles.

What I really like is how the evolution of toy soldiers today are approaching the detail, weathering and painting traditionally found in the military armor modeling world of 1/35, 1/48 scales, etc.

The diorama materials are found commercially from Build-A-Rama (http://youtu.be/HRIEFb0KruY)

And more from Hudson & Allen Studios, JG Miniatures, and even Department 56. Frankly, these materials are also very useable in 1/35 model world.

The bottom line is that all of this available and it only takes your imagination to make history come alive.
