‘Barmaley’ - Stalingrad Diorama Part 1
Description
Creating a diorama centred around the infamous ‘Barmaley’ fountain in Stalingrad during the fierce battle for the city in 1942-43.
This video involves establishing the idea, building a base, selecting the figures & setting the scene:- a close combat scene with 1/35 scale German & Russian figures by Verlinden.
The fountain itself can be seen in many famous WW2 films such as ‘Enemy at the Gates’ & ‘Stalingrad’, & became an iconic feature during the battle. The statues on top of the fountain are 6 children dancing the ‘Khorovod’ around a crocodile, based on an old Russian fairytale.
All comments & suggestions more than appreciated....
Enjoy!
