A new study has revealed the world's most disappointing tourist attractions, with two UK spots making the list.
According to findings, Stonehenge ranks third on the global ranking of "biggest tourist destination letdowns", with Loch Ness placing tenth.
The research, conducted by experts at CasiMonka, analysed social media posts and online reviews to determine which famous sites fail to live up to expectations.
Stonehenge, located in Wiltshire, England, scored an "abysmal" 73.86 out of 100 for tourist disappointment.
The prehistoric monument received more than 400 negative comments related to travel.
Visitors frequently complained that Stonehenge is "expensive", with this criticism appearing 82 times in the analysed comments.
Indeed, an advance online adult ticket will set you back £22.70, and £25 if you add an optional donation.
On the day, an adult ticket costs visitors £27.20, which is ramped up to £30 with a donation.
The site was also described as "touristy" in 61 negative reviews, suggesting that it fails to deliver an authentic experience.
Loch Ness, which claimed the 10th spot on the list, was given a letdown score of 60.5. This included 135 negative words in travel comments.
This research suggests that some of Britain's most iconic historic sites may not deliver the visitor experience that tourists expect for their money.
