A Cheshire man has been jailed for 18 months after strangling a police officer who was attempting to arrest him for criminal damage.
David Poultney, 31, of Saxon Crossway, Winsford, pleaded guilty to intentional strangulation and criminal damage.
Officers were called to a domestic disturbance on 30 August 2024, where Poultney had arrived drunk at his girlfriend's house.
He was verbally abusive to the occupant while her three young children were inside and had smashed her television.
Body camera footage played in court showed Poultney becoming aggressive during his arrest, wrestling the officer to the ground.
