Unearthed footage appears to have exposed some key details about today's New Orleans attacker Shamsud Din Jabbar.

Jabbar, 42, was identified by the FBI just hours after driving a hired pick-up truck into a crowd of revellers.

Following an exchange of fire with local police, Jabbar was fatally shot dead at the scene.

However, footage uploaded to YouTube in 2020 appeared to reveal some more details about the man who massacred 10 pedestrians.

During the short clip, Jabbar spoke about being a born and raised Texan.

He also opened up about his experience serving in the US Army.

Jabbar said: "I just want to say hello and let you know a little bit about me. So I'm born and raised in Beaumont, Texas, and now live in Houston.

"I've been here all my life, uh, with the exception of traveling for the military, where I spent ten years as a human resources specialist, and IT specialist, where I learnt the meaning of great service and what it means to be responsive and take everything seriously, dotting i's and crossing t's to make sure that things go off without a hitch.

"I've taken those skills and applied them to my career as a real estate agent, where I feel like what really sets me apart from other agents is my ability to be able to be a fierce negotiator.

"Not only do I brilliantly market your property to make sure it gets sold as quickly as possible, or gets leased as quickly as possible, but I'm also going to take every ounce of energy and put it into negotiating for you and for your property to get the best deal that you can possibly get for it.

"Once we get to the closing table, all the i's are going to be dotted, all the t's are going to be crossed, everything's going to go off without a hitch.

"And that is my word that I'm giving to you as your real estate agent.

"So if that's the type of agent you're looking for, reach out to me, give me a call.

"And even if you don't want to have me as your agent, call me with any questions you may have.

"So even if you're a first time home buyer, or you're an experienced real estate investor, and you're just looking for somebody to help you with doing some analysis on some properties that you're looking at, either way, give me a call.

"I'm glad to help anytime and I'm looking forward to talking to you."

Jabbar also worked for white-collar Deloitte as a Business Developer and Data Engineer, after being noted for his involvement in real estate at Blue Meadow Properties.

Jabbar, who was shot dead in the bloody scene on New Year's Day, also had a criminal history.

The 42-year-old, who was twice married, was charged with misdemeanor theft in 2002 and for driving without a valid license in 2005.

Following the attack, New Orleans Police Department recovered a handgun, an AR-style rifle, and bombs from the bloody scene.

Confirming Jabbar was the man behind the horrific truck attack, the FBI said: "Today, at approximately 3.15am, an individual drove a pickup truck into a crowd of people on Bourbon Street in New Orleans, killing at least 10 and injuring dozens of others.

"After hitting the crowd, he exited the vehicle and fired upon local law enforcement.

"Law enforcement returned fire and the subject was pronounced deceased at the scene. Two law enforcement officers were injured and transported to a local hospital.

"The subject has been identified as 42-year-old Shamsud-Din Jabbar, a US citizen from Texas.

"He was driving a Ford pickup truck, which appears to have been rented, and we are working to confirm how the subject came into possession of the vehicle.

"An Isis flag was located in the vehicle, and the FBI is working to determine the subject's potential associations and affiliations with terrorist organisations.

"Weapons and a potential IED were located in the subject’s vehicle. Other potential IEDs were also located in the French Quarter.

"The FBI’s special agent bomb technicians are working with our law enforcement partners to determine if any of these devices are viable, and they will work to render those devices safe.

"The FBI is the lead investigative agency, and we are working with our partners to investigate this as an act of terrorism. We are aggressively running down all leads to identify any possible associates of the subject."
