Parents have told GB News that toddlers are being kicked out of nurseries across the country over transphobic views.
Sally and Nigel Rowe appeared on the programme to discuss their experience after removing their six-year-old son from a Church of England school.
The couple were warned their child could be considered 'transphobic' after he was 'confused by a boy wearing a dress' in 2022.
The Rowes now home-school both their children on the Isle of Wight.
The Rowes pulled their children out of school in 2016 and 2017 after one of their sons came home confused that a boy in his class had begun inconsistently wearing a dress and identifying as a girl.
They received what they described as a 'cold' letter from the headteacher and chair of governors.
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS
The letter stated pupils could be seen as transphobic if they showed 'an inability to believe a transgender person is actually a "real" female or male.'
It also warned that refusing to use a transgender pupil's adopted name or appropriate pronouns would be considered 'transphobic behaviour'.
Nigel Rowe told GB News: "It seems to be happening up and down the country. This is insane. How do three-four year-olds have the ability to make a decision like this?"
He added: "The problem isn't the children, it's the adults. Who is pushing this in society? It's absolutely crazy."
Sally explained: "We weren't told anything, it just happened. This child announced they were changing from a boy to a girl and it was accepted."
"We raised our concerns and then we got a letter saying if you don't use the right pronouns and treat this boy as a female, you're transphobic."
Rowe further explained their concerns to The Daily Mail in 2022: "One of the main issues we struggled with in relation to the letter was that it said that if our six-year-old son did not recognise the other boy as a little girl or a little boy, then he would be deemed transphobic."
The couple have been granted permission for a judicial review challenging the Department for Education's decision to provide transgender guidelines to state schools.
The hearing will take place later this year and will examine the DfE's promotion of Cornwall Schools Transgender Guidance.
The Rowes believe these guidelines must be replaced with something that "protects children from partisan materials".
Mr Rowe stated: "This is not just about boys wearing dresses. This case is about an ideology that is now embedded in schools, local authorities, and Church of England leadership."
He believes it is "wrong to encourage very young children to embrace transgenderism."
A spokesperson for the Department for Education, who are defending the claim, said: "We recognise that issues relating to gender identity can be complex and sensitive."
"Schools are best placed to work with parents, pupils and public services to decide what is best for individual children and what is best for all others in the school."
