Tom Holland and Zendaya's engagement has been officially confirmed by their Spider-Man co-star Jacob Batalon, weeks after speculation first sparked when she was spotted wearing a diamond ring at the Golden Globes in January.
The actor, who plays Peter Parker's best friend Ned in the Marvel films, revealed the news during an interview with Metro whilst promoting his new film Novocaine.
Sources had previously told TMZ that Holland proposed to his co-star sometime between Christmas and New Year, with the couple having been in a relationship since 2021 and owning their own home together in London, Richmond.
During the Metro interview, Batalon was asked if he and Holland had coordinated their engagements, as he had proposed to his girlfriend Veronica Leahov earlier this month.
Batalon laughed at the suggestion, replying: "No, I definitely did not, we did not know about each other's plans like that. But I will say I thought about it first so, no, no we didn't know about each other's plans, no."
The confirmation from Batalon puts to rest speculation that had been circulating since Zendaya's ring appearance.

Sources told DailyMail.com that Holland took an "old-fashioned" approach to his proposal and sought permission from Zendaya's family before asking for her hand in marriage.
"The proposal was sweet and romantic and happened over the holidays. He did it the old-fashioned way and got permission from her folks. Everyone is thrilled.
"She has gotten everything she dreamed of and marrying Tom and starting a family is next on her list."
The solitaire diamond on her hand immediately sparked engagement rumours despite her eye-catching burnt tangerine Louis Vuitton gown and new bob hairstyle - with jewellery experts having valued the ring at approximately £500,000.
Laura Taylor, a jeweller specialising in engagement rings, told DailyMail.com: "The ring itself features a sizable diamond, likely in the 5-6 carat range, set on a simple yellow gold band."
Holland has previously been open about his future plans with Zendaya, particularly regarding family life, with the actor telling Men's Health magazine that he intends to step away from acting when they have children.
"When I have kids, you will not see me in movies anymore. Golf and dad - and I will just disappear off the face of the earth."
Sources close to the couple say they plan to be hands-on parents, claiming: "They do not want to be the couple who has nannies and babysitters taking care of their children.
"One of them will always be there with their children when they do have kids," wanting the "traditional family" life without household staff.
Zendaya and Holland first met on the set of Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2017, and despite their high-profile careers, the couple have maintained a notably private relationship.
Holland previously explained his reasoning during an appearance on Jay Shetty's podcast last year and said: "My relationship is the thing I keep most sacred. I don't talk about it. I try my best to keep it as private as possible.
"We both feel like that is the healthiest way for us to move on as a couple, so I do try to keep as removed from Hollywood as possible."
