Prince George is expected to attend Marlborough College, the former school of the Princess of Wales, according to insiders at the prestigious Wiltshire institution.
The £59,000-a-year school, set across a sprawling 286-acre campus, has reportedly been chosen for all three of the Wales children, the Mail on Sunday reports.
Sources say discussions have progressed beyond mere speculation about attendance, with attention now focused on housing arrangements for the 11-year-old prince, who would be the first of the siblings to join the school.
Security considerations have led to C1 House being earmarked as Prince George's likely residence at Marlborough College.
The all-boys house, which accommodates 59 pupils, is situated at the heart of the school within the College Court area.
The selection reflects careful planning around the young prince's safety, as the house's central location within the main quad offers strategic advantages.
Marlborough College features a total of sixteen houses - six for boys, six for girls, and four mixed houses - spread across both the main campus and the nearby market town.
A well-placed insider at the school told The Mail on Sunday: "Parents have been talking about nothing else and discussions have really ramped up in recent weeks but security is obviously a massive consideration."
The source explained that Prince George "will have to be housed in an 'in house'" around the main quad of the school.
"The 'out houses' are scattered down the Bath Road, and these present more of a security risk as they are just big houses on their own and involve a lot more walking around which is the downside of Marlborough," the insider added.
Prince George and his parents visited Marlborough College in 2023.
Princess Kate’s brother James Middleton, who also attended the school, criticised aspects of the institution during an interview last year.
James said regarding Marlborough: "Perhaps my criticism was that it was too focused on what one would call success, or being the best, or the top. So it’s all about the best grades, the top of the class, the top teams."
However, James also admitted that Marlborough was a "fantastic" school and he was lucky to have gone there.
James said there were eight different teams in all of the sports played at Marlborough but that it was only really the first teams that received major attention.

He added: “I was never in the first teams. My sisters were, and they did very well and it worked fantastically for them in how they operated.
"But for me, it wasn’t like that. I was dragging at the bottom. It was a shame, in a way, that some of the things that I found challenging in my life were not picked up then.
"Because I think that could have gone on to help me manage myself, my own expectations, a bit further down the line, so perhaps not allow me to go where I went to because I would have felt more accepted, not felt like perhaps a failure."
