The Prime Minister is set to announce his vision for "reshaping the state to make it work for working people."
In his upcoming speech, Sir Keir Starmer will state that "the fundamental task of politics right now is to take the decisions needed on national security, to deliver security for people at home."
He is expected to describe the current global situation as an "era of instability" that requires decisive government action.
The Prime Minister will diagnose that the state has become "bigger, but weaker" and is failing to deliver on its core purpose.
Starmer said he will commit to a government-wide target to cut administrative costs of regulation by 25 per cent.
The announcement follows a significant shift in the Government's approach to regulation, marked by the abolition of the Payment Services Authority.
In response to these challenges, the Prime Minister will emphasise that the Government must "double down in delivering security for working people and renewing our nation."
He will say: “The need for greater urgency now could not be any clearer. We must move further and faster on security and renewal.
“Every pound spent, every regulation, every decision must deliver for working people.”
With that in mind, will shaking up the public sector really get Britain booming again? Vote in the poll and have your say in the comments below.
