GB News presenter Nana Akua has branded Generation Z "lazy people" amid growing concerns about Britons being conscripted if tensions with Russia escalate.
Liberal Democrat MP Mike Martin warned that Britons "will be conscripted" if the UK goes to war with Russia.
Speaking on GB News, Eamonn Holmes said: "I've been to the Irish Guards headquarters, the barracks, because I found out my grandfather, my mother's father, was an Irish guard, and he fought in the the First World War and he joined up in the Army.
"He was 29 which was very regarded as very old. But he joined up to avenge the death of his brother. Who was killed in the Royal Irish Rifles.
"But he wanted to fight against the Germans. And because of that, then he got wounded and died of his wounds."
Co-host Nana Akua said: "That's so sad. I can't see Generation-Z going to war. They won't want to go into the army.

Eamonn said: "Well, you're quite right there. And who would blame them?
Nana said: "Well, they can get benefits, can't they?"
Eamonn: "Well, let's talk about this Generation-Z. I'm not sure what the heck that means."
Nana: "Just young people. Lazy people."
Military chiefs are preparing to meet in London to discuss peacekeeping plans for Ukraine amid ongoing Russian aggression.
Mike Martin, the Liberal Democrat MP for Tunbridge Wells and Afghanistan war veteran, issued his stark warning about conscription in an interview with the Express.
"There's a significant chance that it [war with Russia] might happen so we must be prepared," Martin said.
He added: "Obviously, if we get involved in a general war with Russia, we'll be conscripting the population – there's no question about that."
The MP emphasised that building up military capability would actually decrease the likelihood of conflict.
"Being prepared generates deterrence, which decreases the likelihood [of war]," he explained.
Martin clarified he is "not a warmonger" but recognises the need to "pursue peace through strength".
However, he maintained that a direct confrontation with Russia may not reach the point of a "generalised war".
