Meghan Markle's latest Netflix project has been branded a "tradwife" programme in a scathing takedown by GB News host Bev Turner.
The Duchess of Sussex faced swathes of criticism within the first 24 hours of the release of With Love, Meghan - a new lifestyle series on the streaming platform offering recipes, tips and tricks.
Discussing the series on GB News, Bev Turner told viewers that it is a "tradwife programme" and the latest rebrand for the Duchess is "a joke".
Bev said: "I just find it so hilarious. If you write the character of a woman who'd thrown the Royal Family under the bus, accused them of racism, you've taken the title but you don't want any of the responsibility, and you swan off to California and make rainbow fruit platters - she's just a joke.
"It could have all been so different. Do you remember that wedding day? A mixed race woman marrying into the Royal Family, it felt like a modernisation. She was all about female empowerment, look at it now, it's so heartbreaking."
Delivering his verdict on the show, co-host Andrew Pierce criticised the duchess's inclusion of "friends" to help her throughout the program, noting that one is in fact an "employee" of hers.
Andrew told GB News: "A significant moment for me, she introduces the first 'friend' in the programme, which is her makeup artist - he's an employee.
"The makeup artist is not going to criticise anything, is he? Because he's an employee - for now."
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:
In a pointed attack on the overall feel of the show, Andrew declared that Meghan's latest offering is "pretentious, entitled nonsense".
Highlighting one particular moment in the show, where Meghan corrected friend Mindy Kaling and told her not to use her maiden name after calling her "Meghan Markle", commentator Mike Parry claimed that the Duchess has spent "less than a day" in Sussex throughout her entire tenure as a royal.
Parry explained: "It's utterly fantastic - don't call me Markle, I'm Sussex... she's been to Sussex once!
"Six hours, once, in Sussex."
Shocked at the little amount of time Meghan has spent in her namesake, former Labour MP Stephen Pound interjected: "Elvis Presley spent more time in the United Kingdom than she spent in Sussex!"
Parry then claimed: "It first went wrong for her at the first Christmas. Their first Christmas, when they go to church, Sandringham, and she couldn't work out why her and Harry were walking behind William and Kate.
"Because her Hollywood mentality said 'I'm the new princess, we should be at the front'.
"However, the way history turned out, when Catherine became very ill and had to step off the world stage, she [Meghan] then would have become a megastar filling in for Catherine, wouldn't she?"
