Actress Abigail Spencer has opened up about her decades-long friendship with the Duchess of Sussex.
The pair first met in 2007 at an audition before their bond deepened whilst working together on the legal drama Suits.
Spencer and Meghan share the exact same birthday - date, month and year - and have referred to themselves as "birthday soul sisters".
Their friendship has spanned many significant moments in Meghan's life.
Spencer has been present at all of Meghan's important milestones, including her wedding to Prince Harry.
She also helped host a baby shower before the birth of Prince Archie.
Most recently, Spencer was one of Meghan's chosen guests for her new Netflix series "With Love, Meghan".
The actress is based in Los Angeles, a two-hour drive south of Montecito where Meghan now lives.
Speaking to Hello, Spencer revealed: "We have a very private friendship so choosing to let people in on part of that is it's very private but I'm glad that we got to share a little bit of it."
The episode was filmed in an $8 million mansion near Meghan and Harry's home.
Together with their mutual friend Kelly McKee Zajfen, they cooked a lunch of salt-crusted fish.
This dish aligns with Meghan's lifelong love for cooking, which she previously shared on her lifestyle blog, The Tig.
Spencer said: "Meghan is the hostess with the most. Literally for years she has been like this."
She described the filming day as "beautifully fun".
LATEST ROYAL NEWS:
Spencer explained her role was supportive: "I really was there just to support her and surround her. This is her heart, that show is her heart, it was so natural."
She added that she was there "to have fun and to delight in her and to be a safe space".
Spencer expressed her pride towards Meghan for bringing her vision together for the Netflix series.
"Creating that was very authentic for her; I've known her a long time and she was doing all of this many, many years ago," she said.
The actress added that she was "grateful that it came back around".
Their enduring friendship continues to thrive despite the geographical distance between Los Angeles and Montecito.
