Meghan Markle's new Netflix venture has transformed the Duchess of Sussex from the "princess with opportunity" to a "reality TV star", it has been claimed.

Speaking to GB News, entertainment and royal reporter Sarah Louise Robertson said: "How the mighty do fall. She had it all in her hands to play with. She had the HRH title, she could have gone on to do wonderful things. And what's she now? A reality star."

The new Netflix series With Love, Meghan is set to launch on January 15, featuring the Duchess of Sussex in what the streaming giant bills as an "inspiring" lifestyle programme.

The eight-episode series will blend practical advice with casual conversations, showcasing Meghan's approach to cooking, gardening and entertaining.

Reacting to the project, Robertson said: "She's not even a working actress anymore - this new cookery show of hers, Netflix has put it in the reality side of their categories, what a comedown that is.

"She's gone from being an HRH, a princess of the British realm, an amazing opportunity, an opportunity people would kill to have, and now she's just labelled a Netflix reality star."

Robertson highlighted Harry and Meghan's recent professional separation, and how the series further illustrates their desire for more and more solo ventures.

"When they first started off, Meghan said they were like salt and pepper, they had to move together," she told GB News. "What's happened now? We don't see them together in public anymore."

"She's doing her thing, she's going down the avenue of reality TV, and Harry's trying to do some of his charity work," Robertson said.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:

She acknowledged Harry's achievements with the Invictus Games, calling it "the best thing he ever did."

However, she criticised the duke's own Netflix project Polo, claiming the documentary series "seems to have been a bit of a flop", and viewers "won't see a second series of that".

Reflecting on the five year anniversary of Megxit, Robertson concluded that although King Charles "misses his son", Prince William is "still very angry" with his brother.

"Prince William, at the moment still is very, very angry at what his brother has done to try to bring shame and embarrassment on the Royal Family," she told GB News.

She added: "Charles misses his son, and he would love it if Harry could come back, eat humble pie and apologise, apologise to Queen Camilla. If he could do that, I think Charles would find it in his heart to forgive him."

Each 33-minute episode of Meghan's new shpw will feature celebrity guests, including Prince Harry and several of Meghan's close friends.

"I've always loved taking something pretty ordinary and elevating it," Meghan says in the show's trailer.

The series, produced by Meghan herself, promises to focus on "the pursuit of joy" rather than perfection.
