A 43-year-old man has appeared at Salisbury Crown Court charged with sexually penetrating a Shetland pony at a Wiltshire farm.

Damion Ogeare faces two charges: one count of sexual penetration with a living animal and one count of recklessly trespassing on premises with intent to commit a relevant sexual offence.

The defendant appeared in court this week where he was due to enter a plea.

However, the court was instead adjourned for as long as seven weeks.

The court heard that Ogeare was allegedly seen trespassing at the Trowbridge farm on January 24 last year.

He is accused of breaking into a stable containing two Shetland ponies, where he allegedly had sex with a mare named Cassieopia Wooley.

The incident allegedly lasted approximately ten minutes before the defendant left the farm.

Prosecutor Christina Norgan told the court: "This defendant stands charged in relation to two offences."
