The Labour Party has been criticised for sending almost one hundred members of current and former staff to the US in the next few weeks to help the Harris campaign in the US election.

Labour is searching for 10 more people to send to the "battleground" state of North Carolina who will have their housing "sorted" by the Party.

In a post on X, Labour's Head of Operations said: "I have nearly 100 Labour staff (current and former) going to the US in the next few weeks heading to North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Virginia.

"I have 10 spots available for anyone available to head to the battleground state of North Carolina - we will sort your housing."

The post received backlash online with many questioning if the move could be interpreted as "foreign election interference."

Political commentator Nicholas Lissack commented on the news, stating on X: "Why are 100 Labour Party staffers packing their bags for America to campaign for Kamala Harris?

"Let’s get real—you’re British, not foot soldiers for Washington's liberal elite!

"You owe your loyalty to your constituents back home, not the political playground across the pond."

Philosopher Dr. Calum Miller also penned: "UK government party sending 100 current and former staff to the US to campaign for Harris.

"We all know if this were foreign governments helping the Republicans it would be 'election interference'."

Political Commentator Alex Armstrong added: "Why are hundreds of Labour staff fleeing the country to support Kamala?

"It's almost as if they've forgotten their first government in 14 years is a total shambles at the moment."

This is not the first time Labour staff have travelled to the US to support Kamala Harris in the upcoming presidential election.

Last month, Labour MP Ruth Cadbury also received criticism online after sharing images on social media of her trip to "stop Trump winning."

The MP for Brentford and Isleworth was also questioned on how the excursion has been funded.

Social media users responded with anger to the post with some branding the trip "a joke" and "wrong on every level."

One user wrote: "Glad to hear there is no work your constituents need doing."
