A leading criminology expert has warned that social media is driving destructive behaviour among young people, with platforms encouraging problematic conduct without serious repercussions.
Professor James Treadwell of Staffordshire University highlighted the "pervasive nature of social media" and its role in promoting disruptive activities.
His comments come as hundreds of teenagers caused chaos in London's Carnaby Street after responding to an advert for a "free pop-up" event by streetwear brands Poser London and Up In Flames.
