A Just Stop Oil activist has told GB News the group “will be back” after it vowed to end direct action.

Future demonstrations may look very different though, Dr Bing Jones told Tom Harwood and Emily Carver.

Since its inception, Just Stop Oil has caused chaos with public stunts which it claims has sparked Governments into action with green policies.

Speaking on GB News, Jones said future action will be carried out “in a different guise”.

“Everything is not OK and your listeners know it”, he said.

“People are in prison. That’s a sign that the Government and the media are anxious. You don’t want to know the truth.

“The Government is massively failing. Emissions are continuing to rise worldwide and that has dire consequences.

“I don’t know why you guys aren’t more upset. Your children will pay a terrific price. Every scientist who isn’t paid by the fossil fuel industry agrees.

“We’re in deep trouble and you guys are continuously trying to avoid the issue. Just Stop Oil will be back, we will be back in a different guise.”

GB News’s Tom Harwood locked horns with Dr Jones over the reasons behind Just Stop Oil’s major decision.

He claimed the protest group has not won over the Government as it has not made any change to its policy over the past eight months.

Tom said Just Stop Oil activists being locked up is more likely to be the motive.

The Labour Government has said it will not issue new licences for new oil and gas exploration but has distanced itself from the controversial protest group.

Campaigners have glued themselves to roads and disrupted sport events in actions that have infuriated Britons.

The group has also become increasingly popular with a bigger capacity to carry out more stunts.

Among the direct action proteges they have carried out, activists have stormed a West End performance of The Tempest, blocked roads and sprayed orange powder on Stonehenge.
