Ellie said: "Well, I mean, honey's expensive, but that is steep."

Stephen said: "I mean, it's just crazy. Isn't it? Of course, she's not making any of it herself. She's just buying it from somebody else and relabelling it."

Ellie pointed out: "The best one for me was the cookie mix, not even made cookies. Just the flour and the chocolate chips and everything and you have to stir it all together, right? Guess how much? £10.80. Just to receive all of the things that you then make at home."

Stephen pointed out: "But it's not just shortbread cookie mix. It comes with flower sprinkles."

He added: "For crying out loud. Good luck to them. I won't be buying it. Not at that price."

The Duchess of Sussex announced the launch in a newsletter to followers, saying: "Remember this pivotal moment with me. Think of it as our time capsule."

She added: "I hope when you see what I've worked so hard to create, you're encouraged to know that whatever life brings, you can do it too."

The brand was originally called American Riviera Orchard but was renamed just weeks before launch.

According to The News International, the range "has already sold out on the brand's website, creating a buzz among consumers."

The "As Ever" brand launch follows the success of Meghan's Netflix series "With Love, Meghan", which premiered last month.

In the show, Meghan revealed how her homemade strawberry jam caused some light-hearted friction among recipients.

"It was not a ranking, it was just 'let me share them' and then people started to take it very personally," she explained in an episode called "Welcome To The Party".

Despite receiving critical reviews, the series became the 10th-most watched programme on Netflix.
