News Heathrow horror crash leaves three people dead as bus engulfed in flames

Three people have died and another six have sustained injuries after a car collided with a bus near Heathrow Airport last night.

The H26 bus crashed head on with a silver Mercedes on a railway bridge in Feltham, London at around 11.55pm.



The Metropolitan Police said both the car and bus were alight following the collision.

Images from the scene of the crash showed the bodywork of the bus damaged, particularly at the front of the vehicle.

Locals claimed to have heard the sound of a "bomb" going off during the tragic incident.

Paramedics treated bus passengers and the bus driver at the scene, rushing two people to hospital.

However, three people travelling in the Mercedes were pronounced dead at the scene of the incident.

Eyewitness Jessica Fell-Hicks, 22, told The Metro: "The bus was smoking ambulances police everywhere. The front of the bud exploded it was like a fireball.

"There’s accidents all the time. We saw a motorcyclist fire there recently."

A Metropolitan Police spokesman added: "At around 11.55pm on Monday, March 31, officers in a response vehicle came across a car alight on Bedfont Road, Feltham.

"The vehicle had been involved in a collision with a bus at the location. Very sadly, three occupants from the car were pronounced dead at the scene.

"A fourth occupant was taken to hospital. We await an update on their condition.

"The bus was also alight. Some passengers were treated for injuries at the scene and two were taken to hospital. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

"London Fire Brigade and London Ambulance Service were in attendance to assist with the incident and roads in the area will remain closed while an investigation continues."
