Police officers responding to community concerns in Leicester's Westcotes area yesterday discovered piles of dumped rubbish containing human waste and broken glass.
Officers said they "wish we'd brought a hazmat suit" when they encountered the severe fly-tipping incident on Tuesday.

The disturbing discovery was made public by Leicestershire Police, who shared images of the waste strewn across a patch of land to demonstrate the extent of the problem.
The illegal dump site has created what police described as a "serious health and safety risk" in the area.

Among the hazardous items discovered were what officers described as "booby traps" in the form of sharp metal pieces scattered throughout the site.
The waste included significant amounts of human waste alongside broken glass, creating both an environmental and safety hazard.
"There's an overwhelming amount of dumped rubbish, broken glass, human waste and sharp scrap metal lurking like booby traps, creating not only an eyesore but also a serious health and safety risk," Leicestershire Police said in their social media post.
The scale of contamination prompted officers to express regret at not having protective equipment when investigating the site.

Police are working closely with the council to clean up the site and prevent further illegal dumping in the area.
Residents who spot fly-tipping activity are being urged to report incidents through Leicester City Council's Love Clean Streets app.
Any anti-social behaviour should be reported to police by calling 101 or through their online reporting system.
In emergencies, the public should dial 999, Leicestershire Police advised.
"Don't just shake your head - report it to the council!" officers added in their social media appeal.
Last week, a brazen fly-tipper dumped approximately 50 bin bags of insulation material behind a Bournemouth church, just minutes away from a council recycling centre.
The waste was discovered strewn along a country lane behind St Andrew's Church in Kinson, despite the Bournemouth Recycling Centre being only a five-minute drive away.
Local resident Malcolm Jeffries, 80, reported the incident to the council on Wednesday after discovering the waste at around 3pm.
He described it as the "worst case" of fly-tipping he had ever seen, calling it "disgusting."
