Donald Trump has revealed what he feels is the 'worst part of the Super Bowl' after making history as the first sitting US president to attend the NFL's title game on Sunday evening.

The 78-year-old was loudly cheered by fans inside the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans as the Kansas City Chiefs faced off against the Philadelphia Eagles.

In contrast, Taylor Swift received boos from sections of the crowd to the surprise of the singer.

Swift has been a regular at matches for the Chiefs since starting a relationship with Travis Kelce.

The 35-year-old artist also endorsed Trump's rival Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election.

And it proved to be a disastrous night for the Chiefs in general as they were thrashed 40-22 by the Eagles.

Trump later mocked Swift and Kansas City on social media, writing: "The only one that had a tougher night than the Kansas City Chiefs was Taylor Swift.

"She got BOOED out of the Stadium. MAGA is very unforgiving!"

Trump didn't stay for the entire game as he was pictured boarding Air Force One more than an hour before the conclusion of the Super Bowl.

He has never publicly expressed an allegiance to any particular NFL team, although he backed the Chiefs in his pre-game prediction.

Despite not staying until the end, Trump still kept a close eye on the result and issued some final thoughts on the Super Bowl on Truth Social.

He added: "The worst part of the Super Bowl, by far, was watching the Kickoff where, as the ball is sailing through the air, the entire field is frozen, stiff.

"College Football does not do it, and won’t! Whose idea was it to ruin the Game?"

The kickoff rules were dramatically changed last year in a significant move from the NFL Competition Committee.

The changes were made in an effort to increase the safety of kickoffs after a series of full-speed collisions from previous kickoffs.

But Trump lashed out at the rule change prior to the Super Bowl on Sunday, claiming it made NFL 'more dangerous'.

"If they would only get rid of that really weird looking new Kickoff 'deal,' which actually makes football more dangerous, they would be doing everybody, especially the fans, a big favor," Trump wrote.

He also called on the NFL to ditch the rule change during his re-election campaign last year.

"I will tell you, I watch football now, and I see that kickoff, and it looks weird to me.

"That thing looks weird, coach. I hope you like it but I think it hurts the game. I think when you have something good, you don’t change it.

"And, I don’t see why it’s safer. Why is it safer? They’re still crashing.

"I looked at that a few weeks ago for the first time and I said, what the hell are they doing to football?"
