Donald Trump is facing fresh calls to review Prince Harry's US visa case, the director of the Margaret Thatcher Center for Freedom at The Heritage Foundation has exclusively told GB News.
On November 5, Trump was elected as the 47th President of the United States of America, beating Democratic nominee Kamala Harris.
Nile Gardiner, the director of the Margaret Thatcher Center for Freedom at The Heritage Foundation, spoke exclusively to GB News to explain what Trump's election victory could mean for the Duke of Sussex.
Prince Harry, who moved to California in 2020, released his memoir "Spare" in 2023, where he wrote about taking recreational drugs during his younger years.
Disclosing past drug use in a US visa application, especially when applying for a green card, is required.
While it does not automatically result in a denial, it can impact an applicant's eligibility.
The Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank based in Washington DC, wanted Harry's visa documents to be made public to see whether or not the Biden administration was protecting the Duke of Sussex.
The think tank subsequently sued the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to force the release of the Duke of Sussex's visa records.
However, in September 2024, it was ruled the documents should remain private.
Following Trump's election victory, Gardiner is keen for the case to be reopened and for Harry's immigration records to be seen by the public.
When asked about what a Trump administration will mean for the Duke of Sussex, Gardiner exclusively told GB News: "What it means is that you will see the enforcement of US immigration law.
"President Trump is someone who is firmly dedicated to ensuring the security of America's borders and the full enforcement of American immigration law.
LATEST ROYAL NEWS:
"With all the revelations about drug use by Harry in his own book, Spare, his immigration records should be fully reviewed and open to the US public for scrutiny.
"So I'm very hopeful that we will see the release of Harry's records by the next US administration.
"The American people should be able to judge for themselves what Harry actually put on his application and whether he was honest and truthful.
"And if he was not honest and truthful in his application, that would be a criminal offence and he would be removed from the country. It’s as simple as that."
