The Democrats may never win the US election again should they fail to acknowledge a key failure, according to Sean Spicer.

The former White House press secretary joined Steven Edginton on GBN America to assess where it all went wrong for Kamala Harris and the Democrats.

Despite polls having her and Donald Trump neck and neck in the lead-up to the vote, the 78-year-old ended up winning convincingly.

Asked if the party is learning the “right lessons” from their defeat, Spicer said: “As a Republican, I hope they keep believing that they lost because America is racist and sexist and bigoted.

“They’ll never win again if they do believe that. They had a bad candidate with a bad message. She didn’t address the issues of the American people and they faced a candidate in Trump that was exactly the opposite.

“He understood the concerns of the American people. He put forward proposals that addressed them.

“If that’s what they want to believe, great. Hang out in the wilderness for decades, then.”

Speaking about why he thinks Trump won “so big”, he said: “Joe Biden came through on his pledge to be the most progressive president ever.

“That’s not what people wanted or expected when he ran. Second, Trump put forward a series of proposals based on his first term where people said, ‘we want to secure the border, we want an economy that brings prosperity’.

“He had his finger on the solutions that the American people were on. The Biden administration, led by Kamala Harris, went way too far on a number of key issues that the American people care about.”

Trump has wasted little time in revealing out how his new-look administration will be comprised with top appointments already announced.

Tech billionaire Elon Musk will team up with ex-Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy to oversee a new ‘Department of Government Efficiency’.

The body will be tasked with cutting the cost of government, stripping away regulations and restructuring federal agencies.

Musk said the department “will send shockwaves through the system, and anyone involved in government waste, which is a lot of people”.
