A Florida-based cruise company is offering Americans the chance to "skip" Donald Trump's second term with a four-year voyage around the world.

Villa Vie Residences launched its Tour La Vie programme earlier this month, presenting travellers with the opportunity to visit more than 140 countries while avoiding the United States.

The company announced the innovative marketing campaign on November 7, and has since reported a significant surge in enquiries.

The cruise line's extended voyage options range from one to four years aboard the Villa Vie Odyssey, with the longest package dubbed the "Skip Forward" trip.

Prices for the unique voyage start at £31,600 per year, with single-occupancy cabins for the full four-year journey priced from £202,700.

Double-occupancy cabins for the complete trip cost up to £253,400.

The comprehensive package includes all meals and drinks, with alcohol served during dinner hours only.

Passengers benefit from complimentary WiFi, medical visits and weekly housekeeping services.

The cruise line offers flexible duration options, including a one-year "Escape from Reality" cruise, a two-year "Mid-Term Selection" cruise, and a three-year "Everywhere but Home" package.

Bi-weekly laundry service is also provided at no additional cost.

The extensive itinerary begins with a month-long stay in the Caribbean before embarking on a four-month South American adventure.

The South American leg features two Panama Canal transits and visits to two World Wonders.

Passengers will experience the Chilean Fjords and witness an Antarctic sail-by during their journey.

The voyage includes attendance at Rio's Carnival celebrations and an eight-day expedition up the Amazon River.

The Villa Vie Odyssey, which can accommodate up to 600 residents, is currently in the second month of its ambitious 15-year world tour.

CEO Mikael Petterson emphasised the non-partisan nature of the campaign, telling Newsweek: "We came up with this marketing campaign before we even knew who would win. Regardless of who would have won, you would have half of the population upset."

"Quite frankly, we don't have a political view one way or the other. We just wanted to give people who feel threatened to have a way to get out," he added.

The ship recently hosted separate election night watch parties, with passengers divided between Fox News and MSNBC viewers.

Petterson said: "They didn't want to talk to one another. At the end of the day everyone there isn't there to talk politics."
