A teenager who killed best friends Max Dixon and Mason Rist in a vile gang attack has posted videos onto social media of him gloating about his crimes.

Kodi-Shai Westcott was one of five people jailed for life in December 2024 for the double murders in Bristol.

The 17-year-old is currently detained in secure children's home until he turns 18.

However, Bristol Live reports an account on Instagram was set up in early January and its profile information included a reference to South Bristol gang, named The 13s.

On the account, there was a video of a rap song about the double murders, with a strap line referencing his "gang" adding "weres *** he up in his coffin." (sic)

There was also an image of Wescott in the corridor of his secure unit, but with a large padlock emoji covering his face.

Another video showed an extract from an upcoming song entitled "33 seconds", seemingly a reference to the duration of the attack on the two boys in Ilminster Avenue. In now-removed Instagram posts, the 17-year-old referred to having "shanked" someone and "put him in the ground".

While the initial account has been taken down, GB News understands a second account has appeared on Instagram, which also appears to show Wescott in his detention centre.

The second account, entitled "argd.13s" has in the caption "2048" and then a padlock symbol. The caption reads: "Share to story’s mandem."

Wescott was given a life sentence with a minimum tariff of more than 23 years, meaning he will not be eligible to apply for parole until at least 2048.

Bristol Crown Court heard how Wescott, alongside Riley Tolliver, 18 and two boys aged 15 and 16, set out for revenge after masked youths wielding machetes threw bricks at a property in the Hartcliffe area, injuring a woman.

Rist and Dixon, who had been best friends since attending nursery together, were heading out for a pizza when they were spotted by those in Antony Snook’s car and wrongly identified as being connected to that attack.

Tolliver, who had a baseball bat, and the three teenagers armed with machetes, jumped out of the car and chased after the two boys.

Within 33 seconds, the attackers had returned to Snook’s Audi Q2 motability car, leaving Max and Mason lying fatally injured on the street. They were both pronounced dead in hospital in the early hours of January 28.

A Youth Custody Service spokesperson told GB News: "Our thoughts are with the families of Max Dixon and Mason Rist who deserve better than to see this killer gloating about these awful murders.

"Young offenders are not permitted to access social media or mobile phones and face sanctions if they are caught doing so, including extra time in custody.

"We are investigating these recordings with the council that runs the Secure Children’s Home where Kodi-Shai Westcott is held and have demanded that social media companies take them down."

GB News has approached Meta, the owners of Instagram, for comment.
