A bomb squad has descended on a Morrisons supermarket following reports of a "suspicious package" related to an "attempted robbery".

The south Manchester store along Wilbraham Road has now been cordoned off, after reports made to emergency services by a member of the public.

It is believed that the package is associated with an "attempted robbery" at the supermarket's cash machine.

Emergency services, including firefighters, have attended the scene.
