A large fire broke has broken out at a busy Lancashire industrial estate with nearby residents urged to keep their windows closed.
The blaze broke out at the factory in Blackburn in Sett End Road West, near the Royal Blackburn Hospital.
Nearby roads were closed off while up to 50 officers tackled the inferno.
Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said the call first came in just before 1am with ten fire engines initially in attendance.
A spokesman from Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said: "[There are] 10 fire engines, two aerial ladder platforms, a water tower, a firefighting robot, high volume pump and drone are in attendance and trying to extinguish the fire.
"Firefighters are working hard to extinguish the fire and stop it spreading to a nearby building on the site. The fire involves plastics and there is a significant smoke plume affecting the local area. Local residents and business are encouraged to keep windows and doors closed."
A spokesman from Blackburn and Darwen Police added: "Shortly before 1am, we received a report from the fire service of a large fire on Shadsworth Industrial Estate. Emergency Services are in attendance, including police. Thankfully, there have been no reported injuries.
"Royal Blackburn Hospital remains open however Haslingden Road from the M65 to the hospital is down to one lane and will be for a while. Please try and find alternative routes where you can."
Incident Commander Tom Cookson said: "The fire is now under control and surrounded. The number of fire engines will be reduced during the morning but we expect to have firefighters here for the rest of the day."
