The recall comes as a food safety measure to protect consumers from potential salmonella exposure, which can cause food poisoning.

UK Health Security Agency warned: "Symptoms of diarrhoea, stomach cramps, nausea, vomiting and fever usually develop between 12 and 72 hours after becoming infected.

"Illness usually lasts from four to seven days. People with severe or prolonged symptoms should consult a doctor."

The affected products are specifically those with a use by date of February 7, 2025 and batch number 300125.

Customers who have purchased the affected chicken steaks can return them to their nearest store for a full refund.

No receipt is required for the refund, making the return process more convenient for shoppers.

Aada apologised for any inconvenience caused by the recall and shared how shoppers can get in touch if they have any questions or concerns.

For further information, customers can contact Asda Customer Relations on 0800 952 0101.
