News Amazon and eBay shoppers warned as several products pose 'serious' safety risks - 'stop using immediately!'

British shoppers have been notified that multiple dangerous products are being sold on Amazon and eBay.

Five items were identified by the Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) as presenting hazards including choking, electric shock and suffocation.



As a result, the products have been removed on the online marketplaces, with some imports rejected at the border and destroyed.

The OPSS advised consumers who may have purchased these items to "stop using them immediately" and contact their distributor for redress.

The Osrchids Light Bulb Adaptor sold on eBay poses "a serious risk of electric shock" due to a path from the live or neutral terminals to the protective earth connection.

eBay has removed the listing for this product from its marketplace. Those who have already purchased the product should stop using it.



Moontoy Musical Crawling Octopus sold via Amazon (2503-0052)

The Moontoy Musical Crawling Octopus sold on Amazon was identified as presenting "a risk of choking as small screws can detach from the base of the toy during play", the OPSS reported.

This product has been removed from Amazon and destroyed. Those who have already purchased the product should stop using it.

Plush Cow Doll sold via Amazon (2503-0034)

The OPSS also flagged a Plush Cow Doll sold via Amazon as presenting "a high risk of suffocation" due to its packaging.

The plastic bag used for packaging was found to be thinner than the minimum required thickness and exceeded the permitted size.

This product's listing has been removed and the import rejected at the border.



Homelylife Busyboards sold via Amazon (2502-0132)

Finally, the Homelylife Busyboards sold on Amazon were found to present "a high risk of choking as the small parts of the toy, such as the zip, can be easily removed".

This product has been rejected at the border and destroyed.
