GB News star Martin Daubney has hit out at Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer after his first Commons statement since his meeting with summit with world leaders on Ukraine, where he stated Britain "must lead from the front".

The heated response came after Starmer committed to Britain playing a "leading role" in securing peace for Ukraine.

The Prime Minister stated this could include "boots on the ground and planes in the air" if necessary.

Speaking on GB News, host Martin Daubney said: "A lot of people will be asking, why isn't it a coalition of everybody in Europe?

"Why is it just a coalition of the willing? And the line that leapt out to me was 'Britain will lead from the front'. That begs the question, why? Why should Britain lead from the front?"

Christopher Hope, political editor said: "We have a responsibility to our European neighbours here.

"I mean, the PM said we are on the military frontline."

Martin responded: "Sorry, we're not on the military geographical frontline to Ukraine.

"Why should Britain lead from the front? I think it's a question that many, many people will be asking."

Chopper said: "Because problems on the continent wash up on our shores pretty quickly."

Martin responded by arguing: "We can't even defend our own borders. People will be saying that."

Chopper explained: "the point is we have got Ukrainians coming to moving here as a result of trouble in Ukraine with the invasion back."

Starmer outlined his vision for Britain's role in Ukraine during a recent address.

"With, if necessary, and together with others, boots on the ground and planes in the air," the Prime Minister stated.

He assured that such significant military decisions would be put before the Commons.

Starmer emphasised it was "right that Europe do the heavy lifting to support peace on our continent".
